26th Shadow Lane party
Over this last Labor Day weekend, we successfully hosted our 26th Party for spanking enthusiasts, a tradition that began in the autumn of 1991, in Studio City, California, where Shadow Lane was based for so many years.
Approximately 315 people attended this event, one of our largest groups ever.
The party was given at The Suncoast, a well-equipped seven year old property located in the fashionable Summerlin district of Las Vegas, about eight miles from The Strip.
Purpose
The purpose of our parties is to provide a pleasant and civilized, semi-private environment, in which to conduct a weekend of non-stop spanking frivolities. This event is specifically intended for spanking enthusiasts but also attracts some B&D people with strong corporal punishment leanings. However, it is not the type of milieu which includes strict fetish attire, dungeon type furniture or somber exhibitions of bound and gagged slaves being flogged, waxed or shocked, while a hushed crowd of non participants stands around and watches. It is, rather, an over the knee, over the sofa arm, and face down on the bed type of event, calculated to please the vast majority of traditional, romantic or sensual spanking enthusiasts.
These parties have largely evolved into giddy cavalcades of spanking people running around like happy kids, playing with each other, laughing with each other, eating, drinking, dancing, flirting and often times, falling in love.
Serious play goes on behind closed doors at our parties, but the prevailing mood is one of friendship and happiness, jolly kidding and spanking fun.
There is a liberating and comfortable sense of belonging to the spanking community prevalent at these events which promotes feelings of pleasure and satisfaction in the vast majority of attendees, most of whom have had to conceal, for obvious reasons, their spanking fixations from the world at large, for most of their lives, until discovering the interactive, social portion of the spanking Scene.
We call our events mixers for spanking people because that is exactly what they are. We don't hold seminars or arrange spanking games, we don't promise to link up every guest with their counterpart. What we do is provide an atmosphere conducive to spanking play, where every guest knows that every other guest shares a deep and abiding affection for spanking.
Because of all we have in common, it's not that hard to find common ground between us. It's not like going into a bar or a party peopled with vanillas and hoping to make a connection with the one person in the room who may be into spanking. We're all into spanking. We speak the same language, share the same history of frustration and concealment and the joy we take in expressing our interest to like-minded individuals is very real.
People
The ages of our guests ranged from 18 to 75. There is no typical Shadow Lane guest. The types of people included those who live a spanking lifestyle all the time, those who only break loose and indulge once in a while and everything in between.
While there was a highly visible minority of models and producers, most of the guests at the party were not related to the spanking entertainment industry in any way other than sometimes buying spanking videos and literature or belonging to spanking websites. You won't be seeing photos of most of our guests because of their personal privacy concerns.
Of the spanking "movie stars" who attended, many have furnished us with photos of themselves and their friends and will be identified below.
There were a number of newlywed couples at this party, people who had met either on our or other spanking websites and had recently gotten married. There were other couples that have been coming to our parties for years. There were single guys and gals, many of whom found each other over the weekend and enjoyed fabulous scenes together in their rooms and suites. There were people who organized room and suite parties, excursions off campus, large pre-party get togethers and smaller special interest meets. And since this is Vegas, there were plenty of gamblers as well.
